The Democracy and Design Platform is an open community-based project, a digital space for discussing the relationship between democracy and design. The Platform started as a way to support the Stand Up for Democracy Initiative, started by the Open Letter by Ezio Manzini and Victor Margolin in March 2017, in order to express in a propositive and proactive way the perspective of the design world over the de-democratizing process currently underway.
DDP is a contribution that the Politecnico di Milano Design Department has decided to make to the constellation of initiatives that are quite autonomously taking, or planned to take, place in various parts of the world. The idea is that by gathering them together and giving them greater visibility it may be possible to increase their cultural and political impact.
Since it started DDP has collected personal several Statements and Events on democracy and design.
If you want to be involved, you can send your own Statement, notify us about any relevant event or submit a content that you think should be part of the DDP.
